Yes, There Is A Difference…

Some days it’s hard to know if there’s really much difference between Democrats and Republicans in Washington. This is one of those times when it is absolutely clear that there is a gigantic difference:

The Democrats continued their string of record deficits last month. April made a perfect 19 consecutive monthly budget deficits, the longest string of shortfalls on record. And, the monthly deficit for April was twice as high as expected.

Obama and Democrats tripled the national deficit last year by nearly a trillion dollars – something unheard of in our nation’s history.

Great job Pelosi, Reid and Obama… Way-to-go destroying a once great economy.
Reuters reported:

The United States posted an $82.69 billion deficit in April, nearly four times the $20.91 billion shortfall registered in April 2009 and the largest on record for that month, the Treasury Department said on Wednesday.

It was more than twice the $40-billion deficit that Wall Street economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast and was striking since April marks the filing deadline for individual income taxes that are the main source of government revenue.

Department officials said that in prior years, there was a surplus during April in 43 out of the past 56 years.

The government has now posted 19 consecutive monthly budget deficits, the longest string of shortfalls on record.

No one is saying that the Republicans have been perfect on fiscal responsibility. However, the numbers simply don’t lie, and they clearly illustrate that when Left-leaning Democrats run the show, the economy suffers tremendously. They’ve taken decades of poor policies and chronic irresponsibility and accelerated it to warp speed. The effects of what they’ve done over the past year and a half are not going to be felt immediately, but when they are, it’ll pack a massive punch.

Our goal should be two-fold:
1. to get them out as quickly as possible, replacing them with people who have a track record of fiscal responsibility and an unabashed desire to return to America’s founding principles
2. to remind all Americans of the truth of who did this to our great nation so we can avoid those people in the future

If we are to restore America’s prosperity, freedom, and success, these two things are non-negotiable.

There’s my two cents.
