Epic Stupidity Or Epic Incompetence…I Can’t Tell Which

You just can’t make this stuff up:

Amid a swelling international outcry over the kidnapping of scores of Nigerian schoolgirls by Islamist terrorists, Secretary of State John Kerry at the weekend again pledged U.S. support for efforts to locate and rescue them.

“The kidnapping of hundreds of children by Boko Haram is an unconscionable crime, and we will do everything possible to support the Nigerian government to return these young women to their homes and to hold the perpetrators to justice,” he said in a speech in the Ethiopian capital, Ethiopia.

“I will tell you, my friends, I have seen this scourge of terror across the planet, and so have you,” he continued. “They don’t offer anything except violence. They don’t offer a health care plan, they don’t offer schools. They don’t tell you how to build a nation, they don’t talk about how they will provide jobs. They just tell people, ‘You have to behave the way we tell you to,’ and they will punish you if you don’t.

“Our responsibility and the world’s responsibility is to stand up against that kind if nihilism,” Kerry said.

Um, okay.  A couple thoughts present themselves.

Islamic terrorists kidnap a couple hundred girls (Christians, if I’m not mistaken), and the highest diplomat in America is distressed that these terrorist kidnappers don’t have a health care plan?!  As if Boko Haram was some sort of legitimate corporation just doing their business but on the cheap?  As if having a health care plan would somehow make the kidnapping okay?  Are you kidding me?  What is he really trying to say here?

What kind of warped sense of morality does this man possess?  These are children.  They’ve been kidnapped, and in all likelihood are being tortured and killed because of their religion.  And his beef is health care.  I thought his iconic “I voted for it before I voted against it” gaffe was epic, but that was nothing compared to this.

Morality aside, the sheer idiocy of this statement is nothing short of mind-boggling.  Just off the top of my head, why would any organization provide health care benefits for suicide bombers?  Why would terrorists — whose stated purpose is to sow terror through the excessive application of violence, especially if it topples a stable government — ever bother with schools or nation building or jobs?  They blow those up, not build them up.  What kind of nonsensical gibberish is this?

John Kerry is either the stupidest or most incompetent Secretary of State this nation has seen.  Personally, I’d vote for both.

And while we’re at it, if that last part rings a bell for you, well, it should.  Just read this again and think who it reminds you of:

… they don’t talk about how they will provide jobs. They just tell people, ‘You have to behave the way we tell you to,’ and they will punish you if you don’t.

Mm-hmm.  Kerry would know.  He works for a guy with the same philosophy.

There’s my two cents.
